In recent experiments it has been seen that Bose-Einstein condensation can be turned on and off by an external periodic potential. As the potential strength is increased the system changes from a Bose-Einstein condensate to a Mott-insulator. I will discuss these concepts in a model of a hard core bose gas on a lattice, where the phenomenon can be rigorously proved.

This will be a great talk!
