Recently a proposal for the microscopic description of M-theory in the maximally supersymmetric piane wave background was put forward in terms of a SU(N) gauge quntum mechanical model. It represents a mass deformed version of the "BFSS" matrix theory corresponding to 11d Minkowski space backgrounds. In our talk we introduce the model and its perturbative structure and demonstrate that it may be obtained from a dimensional reduction of d=4, N=4 Super Yang-Mills on a three sphere down to one time dimension. Moreover, the integrable structures recently observed in N=4 Super Yang-Mills carry over to this reduced model, at least up to three loop level: In the large N limit the spectrum of the model is related to an integrable spin chain with long range interactions.
