Description
Free arrangements of hyperplanes have remarkable
properties like the factorization of their characterictic
polynomials. There is a long unsettled conjecture
about the combinatorial nature of the freeness.
This talk discusses classical results
concerning reflection arrangements,
fiber-type arrangements, and logarithmic differential
forms as well as some recent progress.
