We will go through two proofs that the Fell hypertopology is always compact: first, in an elegant way, as an application of the Alexander Subbase Theorem; second, and in a significantly more involved way, as corollary to Mrowka's Theorem, which states nets of closed subsets have (non-topological) Kuratowski-Painleve convergent subnets.
