The Hecke algebra $H_n(q)$ is a deformation of the symmetric group $S_n$. When $q$ is generic the irreducible representations of $H_n(q)$ are indexed by partitions. We introduce a combinatoric which determines whether these representations are still irreducible when we specialize $q$ to a root of unity.
