This talk is intended to lay the groundwork for Friday's "big kids" discrete seminar by Helene Barcelo on the same topics. It will introduce graduate students to discrete homotopy, subspace arrangements, A-theory, and some related combinatorics. No background will be assumed. As the last SDMS of the quarter, let's have a little fun!
