What is quasi-isometric rigidity

Student-Run Geometry/Topology Seminar

Speaker: Misha Kapovich, UC Davis
Location: 1147 MSB
Start time: Tue, Feb 15 2011, 12:10PM

Quasi-isometries are natural morphisms in the context of geometric group theory. In the talk I will explain what quasi-isometries are, how they appear and give some examples of spaces and groups which are and which are not "quasi-isometrically rigid."
