S-duality-a new twist

Mathematical Physics Seminar

The boundary conditions of a circle compactification of N=4 Super Yang-Mills theory can be twisted by S-duality. Combined with an R-symmetry twist, this gives a construction with N=6 supersymmetry in three-dimensions. The low-energy limit of this compactification encodes some potentially useful information about the S-duality operator. In the talk, the ground states of this theory will be studied using string dualities.
