The particle content of two-dimensional conformal field theories is investigated. The results include asymptotic completeness in terms of (counterparts of) Wigner particles in any vacuum (product) representation and the existence of (counterparts of) infraparticles in any charged (product) representation of a given chiral conformal field theory. It is shown in a class of examples that velocity of these infraparticles is a superselection rule, similarly to the case of the electron in quantum electrodynamics. (Joint work with Y. Tanimoto).
