Bubbles and Fractal Flows

Mathematical Physics Seminar

Speaker: Douglas Stanford, Stanford
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Tue, May 1 2012, 4:10PM

I will discuss recent work with Harlow, Shenker and Susskind on the effects of nonperturbative physics in eternal inflation. In particular, I will use the tree model of eternal inflation to present "fractal flows": simple mathematical structures that break conformal invariance and generate an arrow of time.
