I'll describe a class of functions that appear in the theory of topological strings. This class can be characterized in several ways. One of them is based on algebraic K-theory; it is interesting that the condition that arises in our work coincides with the condition discussed in in talks by M. Mulase and J. Kaminker in relation to knots and topological recursion. I'll use the K-theoretic description to give a proof of some conjectures inspired by the calculations of physicists. The talk will be purely mathematical, but at the end I'll describe how our results can be used to prove some integrality theorems in the theory of topological strings. The talk is based on joint work with V. Vologodsky and J. Walcher.
