Mirror symmetry for open strings, geometry and arithmetic

I will review the overal picture of mirror symmetry with D-branes on compact Calabi-Yau manifolds. I will then explain the calculation of the on-shell superpotential arising from D-branes wrapping holomorphic curves in the B-model, and what should be its interpretation in the A-model. Both local (expansion around large volume) and global (monodromies around the moduli space) properties of the superpotential show interesting number theoretic signatures.
