A flexible, high resolution numerical scheme for the investigation of instabilities and turbulence in viscoelastic fluids in a wide range of geometries

Student-Run Research Seminar

Complex fluids play an important role in daily life, biology, and industrial applications. Due to their highly nonlinear nature, constructing numerical methods to model complex fluid flow is particularly challenging. I will discuss some of the reasons for this numerical difficulty, and outline a flexible numerical scheme that partially overcomes some of these problems.
