GPU accelerated adaptive spectral finite elements on all-hex meshes

PDE and Applied Math Seminar

Speaker: Jean-François Remacle, Rice University
Location: 1147 MSB
Start time: Mon, Mar 9 2015, 4:10PM

This talk will be divided in two parts. First, we will present some recent developments in hex mesh generation that allow to build conforming all-hex or hex-dominant meshes on complex geometries. Then, we will present a high order fully implicit adaptive spectral scheme for solving parabolic problems on GPUs. The method is actually tailored for being highly efficient of hex meshes (several hundreds of GFlops on one single GPU with a minimal memory footprint).
