What is the connection between the asymptotic enumeration of the representations
of SU(3), the Bernoulli numbers, modular forms, and a mysterious analytic
function called the Witten zeta function? A very interesting one, it turns out.
In this talk I will explain how my recent proof of a result about the former
led to some unexpected discoveries about the latter. No background on the
topics of the talk will be assumed.
Please note this seminar is meeting W this week instead of M.
