Intro Talk - Heegaard-Floer Homology

Student-Run Geometry/Topology Seminar

Speaker: Eugene Gorsky, UC Davis
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Tue, Oct 6 2015, 11:00AM

Heegaard Floer homology is a powerful invariant of knots and 3-manifolds, defined by Ozsvath and Szabo. I will briefly outline the construction of the Heegaard Floer homology and some of its applications to 3- and 4- dimensional topology.
