Intro Talk: Degenerate Monge-Ampère

Student-Run Geometry/Topology Seminar

Speaker: Eleonora Di Nezza, Imperial College
Location: 2112 MSB
Start time: Tue, Jan 26 2016, 11:00AM

Complex Monge-Ampère equations have been one of the most powerful tools in Kähler geometry since Aubin and Yau’s classical works. In recent years degenerate complex Monge-Ampère equations have been intensively studied by many authors in relation to the Minimal Model Program. I will introduce some basic notions in Kähler geometry and in particular I will define Monge-Ampère operators. I will then give an idea of the Yau’s proof of the Calabi’s conjecture.
