Navier-Stokes equations: challenge of 21st century

Distinguished Lecture Series

Speaker: Gregory Seregin, Oxford
Location: 1147 MSB
Start time: Tue, Apr 5 2016, 4:10PM

The talk can be regarded as an elementary introduction into the mathematical theory of viscous incompressible fluids. The review will be restricted to the non-stationary case mostly. Various definitions of solutions, including weak Leray-Hopf solutions, mild solutions, suitable weak solutions, and ancient solutions, will be discussed. Existence, uniqueness, and regularity issues for the aforesaid solutions will be the main content of the talk.
