Isoperimetric regions in negatively curved spaces

It is known that the circle is the shortest curve in the flat plane enclosing a given area. But what about in hyperbolic space or in other non-flat planes? I will discuss some unexpected results on the shape of isoperimetric regions in negatively curved spaces.
