The Bochner-Riesz problem is one of the most important problems in the field of Fourier analysis. It has a strong connection to other famous problems, such as the restriction conjecture and the Kakeya (Nikodym) conjecture. In this talk, I will present some backgrounds for the Bochner-Riesz problem, and an improvement to the 3-dimensional Bochner-Riesz conjecture. The main method we used is polynomial partitioning.
