On the Nonlinear Theory of Sound -- Some Details

I will outline the proof of the existence of nonlinear sound waves, which are periodic solutions of the compressible Euler equations. The proof consists of three main steps: isolate the essential symmetries in the system, derive a Sturm-Liouville equation, and carry out a bifurcation argument.
