The first part of the talk will be devoted to the application of wavelet compression to aerodynamic images + discussion of achievable compression ratios of 40 to 75 and more. I shortly sum up the applications to brain wave processing and "emotional" states classification. The examples of photo compression (ratios 30-40) will be provided. In the second part I shall explain why people are not happy with orthonormal wavelets and what are frames and frame operators. I will finish with the wavelet frame operator representation, link to the recent results by Chui et al. (2000-2002) and point the possible applications.
