Computation in Khovanov-Rozansky homology

Special Events

Speaker: Ben Webster, UC Berkeley
Location: 3106 MSB
Start time: Mon, May 14 2007, 11:00AM

I will discuss the knot homology theory defined by Khovanov and Rozansky, which categorifies quantum invariants of sl_n. I won't assume any prior knowledge of the theory and go through carefully through its definition. As time allows, I'll discuss some of my own work on applying the "divide and conquer" strategy to computing KR homology.
