In this talk I present a novel project-and-lift approach to compute Hilbert bases of pointed rational polyhedral cones. A similar approach can be used to compute the extreme rays of a cone or the Graver basis of a matrix. Moreover, I give some computational experience with the C-program MLP and a few applications of Hilbert bases.
